International Conference “Konflikt, Körper, Klasse: Gesellschaftliche Transformationen zwischen Politik und Ökologie in der Literatur”, June 24-26, 2026

Programm der Konferenz Konflikt Körper Klasse

The international conference “Konflikt, Körper, Klasse: Gesellschaftliche Transformationen zwischen Politik und Ökologie in der Literatur” (“Conflict, Body, Class: Social Transformations between Politics and Ecology in Literature”) examines the interrelationships between political, social, and ecological aspects in literature from the revolutionary year of 1848 to the present, and explores the extent to which ecological and political dynamics are intertwined, particularly within democratic negotiation processes. The focus is on the three key concepts conflict, body, and class. The conference will take place from June 24 to 26, 2026, at the University of Wuppertal and is co-organized by our postdoctoral researcher Antonia Villinger. Further information can be found in the program.

As part of the conference, a reading and discussion with author Raphaela Edelbauer will take place on June 25, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the foyer of the Von der Heydt Museum. Admission is free.
