Dissertation: The Moral Posthuman: An Examination of Human and Artificial Co- Existence North American SF Discourse

Das Dissertationsprojekt ist an der Schnittstelle von Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft, kritischem Posthumanismus, Ethik der künstlichen Intelligenz, Philosophie des Geistes und Medienwissenschaft angesiedelt und untersucht, wie literarische, öffentliche und wissenschaftliche Diskurse differenzierte Verständnisse von KI abbilden. Sie untersucht, wie die Koexistenz von Menschen und KI in Literatur und Film dargestellt wird und wie diese Darstellungen moralische Standards in Frage stellen um damit einen eher posthumanistischen Ansatz zur Moral verfolgen. Diese Untersuchung befasst sich mit Science-Fiction-Erzählungen über verschiedene Formen von KI, die Begriffe wie Empfindungsvermögen, Bewusstsein, Intelligenz und Kommunikation hinterfragen, um zu zeigen, wie Literatur ein Medium der Debatte und eine Form der Erforschung sein kann, wenn es um verschiedene posthumane Ansätze zur Definition von Leben geht.
